María Elísabet Bragadóttir has a degree in philosophy from the University of Iceland, has written articles for Fréttablaðið, read her stories on 101 radio and been a columnist for Víðsjá. María’s first book is the short story collection Herbergi í öðrum heimi, which was published by Una útgáfuhús in 2020. That book was extraordinarily well received by readers as well as critics, and María became a nationally known name, almost overnight. María Elísabet is currently working on her second book, a full-length novel.
