Halla Þórlaug Óskarsdóttir

Halla Þórlaug Óskarsdóttir has a diverse educational and professional background. After devoting herself to the study of physics during her high school years, she changed course and went to art school. Halla Þórlaug has a BA degree in art from the Iceland Academy of the Arts and an MA degree in writing from the University of Iceland. She has worked as a programmer on Rás 1, where she has been a presenter and host of cultural coverage for Víðsjá and Tengivagninn and more. Halla’s published works are of all kinds: Plays, poems, short stories and one children’s book which she also illustrated. For her book of poetry, Þagnarbindindi, Halla received a New Voices from the Center for Icelandic Literature in 2020 and Maístjarna in 2021. Halla Þórlaug and Ásrún Magnúsdóttir’s play Ertu hér? is on the program of Borgarleikhúsið in the autumn of 2021.
