In this Q&A session, Dina Nayeri, a writer who escaped Iran with her family as a child, discusses her book The Ungrateful Refugee with Gauti Kristmannsson, a professor of translation studies at the University of Iceland. The book explores the theme of who is believed, and Nayeri shares insights about her upbringing, her mother’s experiences, their escape from Iran, and the challenges of waiting and adjusting to a new life.
