The Reykjavík International Literary Festival in association with The Council for Disability Rights, The Centre for Disability Studies and University of Iceland Press are hosting an event where disabled scholar, award-winning writer, and disability activist Jan Grue will be interviewed.

The discussion will address disability labor, the battle against “the system”, disabled university students and staff.

Jan Grue is a doctor in linguistics and a professor and writer in Oslo. He has written short stories and novels as well as academic articles. His book I Live a Life Like Yours: A Memoir was first published in 2018 and received highly raving  reviews, won the Norwegian Critics’ Prize and was nominated for the Nordic Council’s Literature Prize in 2019. It has since been translated into multiple languages, including an Icelandic translation by Steinar Matthíasson, published by the University of Iceland Press.

The event will take place in English.
