Reykjavík Fellowship Program 2021

The biannual Reykjavík Fellowship Program, held since 2000, is scheduled to take place during the RILF on April 21-24, 2021. Fellows gain an insight into the Icelandic book market and the rich literary history of Iceland. The program is varied and consists of meetings with Icelandic publishers and authors, presentations of the participants’ book markets, meetings with both Icelandic and international authors and attendance to the festival’s program. The Reykjavík Fellowship Program is a friendly and relaxed fellowship with casual dinners and cocktail parties, pool dips and hot pots, schnapps and °, excursions and adventures. After taking part in the Reykjavík Fellowship, fellows will not only have a better knowledge of the book market in Iceland, but they will also have gained friends for a lifetime. The program covers flights, hotel with breakfast during the stay, excursions and trips in Iceland, some meals and social program. Applications are open between October 16 and November 30, 2020 and selected fellows will be notified by the end of the year. Please note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Fellowship can either be moved until later in the year or even cancelled. During previous fellowships, the majority of participants have been editors and publishers but scouts and agents have also successfully applied. The Reykjavík Fellowship Program is organized by the Reykjavík International Literary Festival with support from Reykjavík, a UNESCO City of Literature; Ministry of Education, Science and Culture; the Icelandic Publishers’ Association and Icelandic Literature Center. Application form can be found here. Should you need further information, please don’t hesitate to write to stella@bokmenntahatid.is.
