What’s so exciting about secrets? Who has the right to tell them? Three authors will discuss what is difficult to say out loud. All of them have written about secrets–whether in fiction or autobiography.

Júlía Margrét Einarsdóttir is the author of the book God’s Search for Salome, which deals with a life colored by secrets. Alejandro Palomas is known for his characterization in his fiction, where characters’ backstories and secrets are artfully revealed. Palomas’ latest book It is not said ( Esto no se Dice) is an autobiographical account of sexual abuse within the Catholic Church, which has attracted enormous attention in his home country. This year, Vigdis Hjorth is nominated for the Nordic Council’s literary prize and longlisted for the Booker prize. She was previously nominated for the Nordic Council’s literary prize for Will and Testament, an autobiographical account of violence in her childhood home. Writer María Elísabet Bragadóttir will moderate the discussion.

The event will take place in English.
