In this lecture, Boualem Sansal, an Algerian writer, discusses the current situation in Algeria. He examines the challenges faced by writers in the country, including restrictions on their work and the government’s attitude towards literature. Additionally, he explores the portrayal of Algerian society in works of fiction, and how the general public is depicted in these writings.

The event is organised in collaboration with Alliance française. The lecture will be in French and after the speech, Friðrik Rafnsson will moderate a conversation with the author.
