Here we talk to three women authors who have all written about violence and acts of darkness in their books, but on different grounds. Where does the inspiration come from and where does the sympathy lie in the works? What’s so exciting about darkness? Helene Flood has released a psychological thriller about murder, Monika Fagerholm wrote about sexual violence and its consequences and Gerður Kristný has, among other things, published an powerful collection of poems about victims of violence. Ivan Wadeson from the City of Literature Manchester moderates the discussion.
