Mariana Enriquez is one of the most spellbinding narrators in Latin American literature. Her writing is known for being both dark and even a bit uncomfortable; it takes hold of the reader and doesn’t let go until long after the reading has been brought to an end. In continuation of the program of the Reykjavík International Literary Festival on Wednesday evening, Mariana Enriquez will read one of her short stories in English translation. The reading will be accompanied by Örvar Smárason’s dark tunes and Atli Sigursveinsson’s drawings. Together they will attempt to recreate the story’s atmosphere and amplify it. A unique literary event.
The event will take place in English.
