Wolfgang Schiffer, writer and poet, has worked for many years in leading positions in radio broadcasting in the fields of radio drama, radio documentary and literature. As a promoter and translator of Icelandic literature, especially poetry in Germany, he works for the literary magazine die horen, the publisher Corvinus Presse and above all for ELIF Verlag. He also works as an editor for ELIF’s entire literary program.
In 1991, he was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Icelandic Order of the Falcon for his services to Icelandic-German cultural exchange. He also received the Cultural Prize of the Icelandic Banki Fund in 1994. He lives in Cologne/Germany and Prague/Czech Republic.
