Johanna Laitinen is a publisher, in charge of non-fiction and translated fiction. At Gummerus, the publishing encompasses a broad spectrum of genres, ranging from commercial to literary works. In fiction, Johanna’s primary focus lies in Nordic literature, while in non-fiction, she is particularly drawn to narrative-driven works. Gummerus values curiosity over rigid classifications, and the editorial approach is open-minded, and exploratory.
Gummerus is one of the oldest trade publishing houses in Finland. After operating as an independent, family-owned company for nearly 150 years, Gummerus joined the Storytel publishing family in 2019.
