Applications are now open for the Reykjavík Fellowship Program. You can apply by filling out the application form by December 30th. Successful applicants will be notified in early 2025. The program dates are April 24 to April 27, 2025.
The aim of the program is to introduce Icelandic authors and literature to publishers and editors from around the world. Fellows will immerse themselves in Reykjavík’s vibrant literary and publishing scene through group activities and individual meetings, gaining insights into the extensive support system for translations and more. Additionally, fellows will have opportunities to explore local swimming pools, cafés, nightlife, and bond as a group.
The Fellowship coincides with the 17th edition of the Reykjavík International Literary Festival which will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2025. The program is supported by the Icelandic Literature Center and the Icelandic Publishers’ Association. It covers flights, all travel within Iceland, accommodation with breakfast, some lunches and dinners, and a social program. Typically, the program accepts between 5 and 15 fellows.
