13:00A programme in honour of the centenary of Thor Vilhjálmsson (1925–2011). The event will focus on the work of the Algerian author Boualem Sansal, who attended the festival in 2023. On 16 November last year, Sansal was arrested due to his political views and has since been sentenced to five years in prison. His books have been banned in Algeria since 2006.
During the festival, attendees will have the opportunity to sign a petition demanding Sansal’s release.
The event will be managed by Sjón.
