Finnish author Satu Rämö has gained immense popularity in recent years as a crime writer, and the translation rights for her series about Hilda, set in Ísafjörður, have been sold worldwide. A TV series based on the books is currently in production. The books are published in Icelandic by Forlagið, translated by Erla E. Völudóttir.

Ragnar Jónasson is a popular crime author whose books have been published widely around the world, consistently appearing on bestseller lists, especially in the Atlantic region. His stories are set in Siglufjörður, and TV series have been made based on them.
