Ingólfur Eiríksson recently published the book Clone: A Tragi-Comicbook. Clone is a story of interconnected poems, illustrated by Elín Edda Þorsteinsdóttir. The subject of the book is the life of the clone dog Samson Ólafsson Moussaieff. Samson is the dog of former Icelandic president Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson and his wife, Dorrit Moussaieff. His conception and birth drew quite a bit of media attention, as he is a clone of their old dog, Sámur. Samson’s life is described in the book in a beautiful and original way. Ideas of originality and replicas play a major role in the book, as does the artist Salvador Dali. Ingólfur has previously published poems in literary magazines as well as having performed his pistols and writings on the radio. His first book of poetry, Línuleg dagskrá, was published in 2018 by Partus. Ingólfur received the New Voices Grant from the Center for Icelandic Literature this year for the recently published novel The Big Book of Self-Pity.
Ingólfur will take part in two events: Poetry Program and a panel discussion Real/Surreal.
