Erika Fatland is a Norwegian anthropologist who has gained great popularity for her narrative non-fiction works. She has written seven books that have won numerous awards and been translated into more than twenty languages. She first gained attention in 2015 with the book Sovietistan<\/em>, where she recounts her travels through the former republics of the Soviet Union that end in -stan. In her 2021 book Grensen<\/em> (The Border), she describes her travels around Russia, journeying through all the countries that share a border with Russia.<\/p>\n

Her latest book, <\/span>Sj\u00f8fareren<\/span><\/i>, explores the Portuguese Empire from the 15th century to the present day. The book has been highly praised by readers and has received excellent reviews.
