Mariana Enriquez is one of the most spellbinding narrators in Latin American literature. Her debut novel <\/span>Bajar Es Lo Peor <\/span><\/i>(1995) was published when she was a teenager, followed by the novel <\/span>Com\u00f3 desaparecer completamente<\/span><\/i> (2004) and the story collection <\/span>Los peligros de fumar en la cama<\/span><\/i> (2009; 2017), shortlisted for the 2021 International Booker Prize and finalist of the Kirkus Prize. She has been featured in countless anthologies, as well as in The New Yorker, Freeman\u2019s, McSweeney\u2019s, Granta UK, Granta en Espa\u00f1ol, Virginia Quarterly Review and Asymptote. She also has a collection of chronicles on cemeteries she has visited around the world, titled <\/span>Alguien camine sobre tu tumba<\/span><\/i> (2014, 2021). Her breakthrough story collection <\/span>Las cosas que perdimos en el fuego<\/span><\/i> (2016) entered the bestseller lists in Spain and Argentina, and has been translated into 30 languages, and her novel <\/span>Nuestra parte de noche <\/span><\/i>won the Herralde Novel Prize in 2019, the Premio Celsius, the Premio Kelvin 505, and most noteworthy, the Premio de la Cr\u00edtica in 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n
