She has published books in various literary genres; children&#8217;s books, novels, short stories and journalism, to name but a few. Her works can be counted by the dozens. She is best known for her books of poetry. Ger\u00f0ur has won various awards, including the Icelandic Journalists&#8217; Award for <\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Myndin af pabba &#8211; Saga Thelmu<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and in 2020 she received the J\u00f3nas Hallgr\u00edmsson Award, which is given to those who have enriched the Icelandic language in a special way.
