The prize is awarded to internationally recognized authors for contributing to a renewal of the narrative tradition, which were the grounds for awarding Laxness himself the Nobel Prize in 1955. Upon accepting the award, the author presents the Halld\u00f3r Laxness lecture.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The selection committee for the awards included <strong>Ian McEwan<\/strong>, winner of the Halld\u00f3r Laxness Literary Prize in 2019, First Lady <strong>Eliza Reid<\/strong> and <strong>Stella Soff\u00eda J\u00f3hannesd\u00f3ttir<\/strong>, director of the Reykjav\u00edk Literary Festival.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":2838,"template":"","stadsetningar":[102],"thatttokuar":[89],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.1 -
