In this very special event, Kim Stanley Robinson will give a live performance of a radio play that is adapted from his latest science fiction novel Aurora (2015), the tale of a voyage between the stars. Robinson created this piece with Marina Abramović and 25 others in a workshop at UC San Diego, originally intended for use in her performance at the 2015 Venice Bienalle. For this performance, Robinson will read live as the narrator, a conscious computer running the starship, while dreaming passengers on the ship chime in with different voices. The darkened room and soundtrack will create a mystical effect, taking the audience on a fantastical journey.
