Lily King


The American novelist Lily King is known to many as the author of the popular and critically acclaimed Euphoria (published in Iceland in 2018 under the name Sæluvíma). King grew up in Massachusetts and received a B.A. in English Literature and then a M.A. in Creative writing from Syracuse University. She has taught both English and Creative writing at various universities around the world.

King´s first novel, The Pleasing hour, was published in 1999 and was very well received both publicly and critically. The same was true of her next books, The English Teacher in 2005 and Father of the Rain in 2010. Euphoria, published in 2014, has been her greatest success to date, receiving numerous awards, named among books of the year and has been translated into several languages.
