Anne-Cathrine Riebnitzsky

Anne-Cathrine Riebnitzsky is a Danish author with an unusual background – she was a member of the Danish army, which led her to Afghanistan in 2007, first as a soldier and later as a consultant on behalf of the Foreign Ministry. In Afghanistan, Riebnitzsky worked with local women affected by the violence in their country, and her experience led her to examine the struggles of women and children at war in her work. Her debut was a biographical record of the years in Afghanistan, Women’s War, which came out in 2010.
